The Flint RiverQuarium acquired a baby yellow
stingray that was born at the John G. Shedd
Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois.

Alligator Snapping Turtle

The largest freshwater turtle in North America,
alligator snapping turtles can weigh as much as
236 pounds!

Atlantic Sturgeon

Atlantic Sturgeon

The Atlantic sturgeon can live in either fresh or salt water. Atlantic Sturgeon used to inhabit the waters of the Flint River system until the Lake Seminole dam was built. Gulf Sturgeon may grow up to 8ft.

These are nocturnal wading birds. They eat fish and small crustaceans.

Common Mudskipper

These are completely amphibious fish. They are unique because they are active underwater and above water. You can find these fish in intertidal habitats.

These birds are small wading birds that can be seen at the edges of ponds and lakes. This is one of the few birds known for using tools. They use sticks and bugs dropped onto the surface of the water to attract fish.
